Kayak Fishing is offshore fishing at its core. The kayak was originally created by the Eskimos for “fishing”.  A kayak is quiet, fast, lightweight, stable and seaworthy.  It just might be the safest and easiest way to get you off the beach and out to the fish.  Every strike is exciting in a kayak. 

You will fish the waters of the Gulf of Nicoya near Playa Agujas for 3 hours and hopefully hook into the catch of your dreams.  We only guarantee the fishing; the catching is up to you.  The water is warm and the scenery spectacular.

All equipment is provided and we regularly catch,  Bonita, Corvina,  Grouper, Mackerel, Jacks, Roosterfish and Snapper.

Tours at 8 a.m and 1:30 p.m

We provide: Great guides, all necessary equipment, bottled water, fruit, showers, and changing rooms.

Please bring - *Hat, sun block, water shoes, bathing suit, change of clothes and a towel for after. 

* Kayak Jaco will always have dry bags available.

Our 1\2 day outrigger canoe tour is unique to Costa Rica. We pioneered the use of outrigger canoes as a great way to take groups on the ocean way back in 1999.

Our outriggers (Hawaiian style canoes) are great equalizers of abilities. Your steersperson in the canoe takes care of controlling your direction and everyone gets to the most beautiful beaches around at the same time. The canoes are more efficient than kayaks and paddling is a little easier. You will glide past spectacular cliffs filled with frigate birds and pelicans and your guide will point out interesting landmarks.

We snorkel (when conditions permit) from the beach so we have lots of options if someone in the group is into monkey and bird watching or beachcombing.

No experience is necessary to enjoy this tour to the fullest.

• *½ day tour departing from our base of operations in Playa Agujas at 8 a.m and 1:30 p.m.
• Transportation is available from Jaco and all the surrounding area.
• Tours must be reserved in advance.
• Trip duration:3 hours, 4 with transport from Jaco.
• We provide: great guides, all necessary equipment, bottled water, fruit, showers and changing rooms.

This tour is perfect for larger groups, up to 40 paddlers, families with small kids or grandparents, high school, university and corporate activities, multi-sport tour option. We can operate the tour with a minimum of 4 people.

This tour starts in Playa Herradura.

Ashuma is ready to set sail. She is a 25 Sea runner trimaran, with big comfortable nets all around the circumference of her large center cockpit.

Completely relax or lend a hand, it's up to you. She is fast, stable and loaded with comfortable space on her trampolines and a large cockpit. You charter Ashuma by the hour, so every tour is private and catered to you.

If you have been on a crowded boat tour and spent time having to chat with folks you could have gladly gone through life without knowing, then you'll love Ashuma. You control the ambiance, and you control the guest list.

The snorkeling equipment is on board and a fishing rod is available. Snacks and refreshments are provided. Dolphins and whales often join tour and when the water is clear the snorkeling is beautiful.

You set the time!

There is a 2 hour minimum but 3-4 hours are highly recommended.
Price Includes water taxi from Herradura Beach, bottled water, drinks, beer, fruit and snacks. Snorkeling depending on conditions.
